I have it in my head to build a dual course 10 string bass. The pluses so far? I can easily get the bridge from Warwick. I have a fantastic local luthier who’s not expensive.

It looks like Warmoth is really the only source for quality bodies and necks. I’m thinking super J 5 body made out of Alder routed for rear controls, one MM shaped pickup , jack/volume/tone, and ground wire route . My goal being a beautiful tobacco burst with no pick guard. For the neck, obviously a paddle headstock, no nut installed Maple and rosewood. I believe their paddle head stocks have dual truss rods. I’d like the luthier to shape the headstock of course. My dream would be that it’s shaped like the old fender 12 string guitars. Also considering doing like a Hamer Chaparral headstock.

looking for opinions on build woods, pickups, tuners, harness, pots etc . Let’s hear it
