Aguilar DB-115 vs Fender Rumble 115

I am aware that there is roughly a $600 price difference between these two bass cabinets, but I was hoping I could find some of you out there who have played or heard both and how they compare. I've read many amazing reviews for the Fender rumble cabinets and equally favorable, although less frequent, reviews of the Aguilar DB series cabinets.

I'm considering purchasing one of these to use for small gigs and practice sessions. I already have an Aguilar Tonehammer 500 and Squire Jazz Bass.

Thanks for any help you can give me on this. I've searched a ton already and a direct comparison would really help me here, especially as to whether the extra $600 for the DB-115 is worth it here at all.

Sorry, I haven't tried the Rumble cabs, but I would choose Aguilar over Fender every time.

Are you set on a 115 cab? Aguilar has a bunch of other options. I would choose the DB 212 over the DB 115.
It handles more power, is almost the same size and is 1 lb. lighter.

FWIW, I currently use the DB112 and GS112 cabs with my two TH500's.

The GS112's are easy to find used. You can usualy find a used pair for quite a bit less than one new DB115.
GS series sound a little scooped in the midrange compared to the DB series, so it also depends what tone you want..
Good luck!

I have always loved the sound of 15s but have never owned one myself. I’ve had 12s and smaller and wanted to go 15 for my next single cab rig.

As for desired sound I’d says good lower midrange, not much highs if any, good deep bass, and a rounded tone overall.

I have a DB112 and I have played the Rumble in a GC. The DB sounds incredible. I have used it at a bar gig and it was just fine for the gig. A 15 I imagine would be fantastic and probably not much you can't handle with the Aggie 15. No farting and NAILS the midrange. I also think the Rumble sounded great and the light weight most definately would be a factor. I prefered the Aggie and it's honestly not worth the price difference, BUT if you have the money and plan on keeping it for a long time, I'd go with the Aggie.

I know it's been a couple of months, have you made a decision?

I use a DB115 as a standalone with a DB751 head and a Fender Jazz Bass. Not exactly the same setup as yours but close enough. I really enjoy the DB115. It is punchy, got tons of mid and can provide a room shaking low end, if that's what you are looking for. I was also surprise by it being bright enough. No need to add Treble to the am EQ and I play with flatwound. I play mostly 60's Pop-Rock / Motown and 70's Funk.

I tried the Rumble in a store, and don't quote me wrong as I'm a big Fender's aficionado, and I got the feeling that it wouldn't stand the test of time. It is really light (that my be a plus for you) but can get a little shaky as you turn up the volume.

I went with the Aguilar DB-115. I’m quite happy. I play more upright these days but this is the best sounding setup for bass guitar I’ve ever heard. Thanks for eberyone’s help!
@Kickdrum --- years on now --- do you still have the AgDB115? If so, any update on how you've enjoyed it, build quality, etc? I may be in the market for one of these.
