I just had my tech install the OBP3 (18V boost/cut ) pre in my bass.It sounds great except that the bass control kicks in really hard right after center click. It is super touchy. I read somewhere on this forum that this behavior can be altered by using a different pot. I am not an electronics expert.
What pot might make the bass control more usable? I sure don't need 18db of boost and cut. I'd be OK with 3db even.
