Thanks for the reply!
According to Aguilar it's completely safe to use the DI out without the load, so it shouldn't be a problem.
This is from their tech support:
Thank you for using the Tone Hammer 500!
It is perfectly safe for you to use the amp with no speaker cabinet connected. This allows for silent recording through the DI. You can continue to set the gain and eq controls for the sound you desire.
Enjoy the amp, and let me know if I can assist further.
I figured it wouldn't hurt any of the equipment but wanted to make sure.
In the meantime, I thought of another option
going into a second DI and sending the Thru to the Aggie.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
So this would be the chain:
Bass into the RNDI which would be going into a mic preamp from it's out (which is mic level) and the Thru would be going to the Aguilar.
Then from the Aguilar's balanced out to the Mooer Radar and into the second preamp channel.
Just trying to expand my options and possibly track a clean DI and a cab sim track.
I figured this would work as a standard scenario with sending the DI's Thru to an amp and throwing a mic on the cab.
Thank you!
