I'd like to try running the TH's out on the front to the Mooer Radar (cab sim pedal) and into my interface for recording purposes and experimenting with different options since you can load your own IR's to the pedal, which is pretty handy.

My question is, could this damage the Aguilar or my interface?

Thanks!

that definitely won't hurt your interface. but running a head with no load (no cabs plugged in) is something i've heard not to do... i believe the DI out on the tonehammer is before the master volume so if you plug a cab in and turn the master volume all the way down the DI out should still produce a signal and there will be no volume. i could be wrong, but there are 2 ways to find out... 1, try it. 2, check the manual.

if you have the DI out in "post" mode, "Gain, Drive, EQ and effects will be sent to the D.I. XLR output jack. In this setting adjustments to the Master control will only affect the output to your speaker cabinets, not the signal going to the D.I."

Thanks for the reply!
According to Aguilar it's completely safe to use the DI out without the load, so it shouldn't be a problem.
This is from their tech support:

Thank you for using the Tone Hammer 500!
It is perfectly safe for you to use the amp with no speaker cabinet connected. This allows for silent recording through the DI. You can continue to set the gain and eq controls for the sound you desire.
Enjoy the amp, and let me know if I can assist further.

I figured it wouldn't hurt any of the equipment but wanted to make sure.
In the meantime, I thought of another option :D going into a second DI and sending the Thru to the Aggie.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
So this would be the chain:

Bass into the RNDI which would be going into a mic preamp from it's out (which is mic level) and the Thru would be going to the Aguilar.
Then from the Aguilar's balanced out to the Mooer Radar and into the second preamp channel.
Just trying to expand my options and possibly track a clean DI and a cab sim track.
I figured this would work as a standard scenario with sending the DI's Thru to an amp and throwing a mic on the cab.

Thank you!
