I just picked up a used Aguilar Twin Filter used (not on TB). First, it's a really nice, clean sounding envelop filter. I love how fat and classic it sounds. I had an MXR M82 (a few years ago) which was great for dirty funk but I struggled to get a good clean sound out of it. With my cell phone on and within 3' of the Aguilar I'm getting clicking and distorted breakup of the Aguilar envelop. The distorted breakup isn't consistent; it comes and goes. Airplane modes stops the problem as does moving the phone around 3+ feet away. There is no problem when the pedal is off. No other pedals are influenced by my phone. I know cell phones can give problems with amps, but this is the first time I've had one interact with a specific pedal. I don't have many other pedals (MXR compressor and tuner) and am just getting back into having pedals. I don't know if there is a problem with the pedal, power block, or if this is just normal. The disruption in sound is bad enough that I'm concerned about playing out with it. Thoughts on the cause? I can return the pedal.

I just posted in another Filter Twin thread … might be helpful, posting here too. Please see below.

"I have a crackling Filter Twin problem too … the standard surf green model played with both a passive jazz and active Yamaha. Isolated power supply, first in line on the board. The thing can go a little while with no problem at all - really enjoy this thing - then the crackling starts, almost like it’s picking up radio frequency at times (as it’s noisy without input playing a note).

Oddly - plugging a battery in does solve the issue. But that’s not sustainable and a right pain in the arse. I’m no electrical engineer, but it seems the pedal has a design flaw in the 9v power supply. Tried a few supplies from cheap ones to legit 9v pedal specific adapters. Crackling persists.

I’ve had the pedal a good year or so, this problem came straight out of the box - it was a gift so not trade in but as a result I just don’t use as often as I’d like.

This threads been live a while now - any more feedback or solutions out there. Thinking of popping Aguilar an email but thought I’d check here first."
