Hi all Im building a Stanley Clarke alembic style bass- Ive sourced hardware and some AXY pick ups but no active circuitry. Ive emailed Alembic and get no reply- does anyone know whether there are aftermarket wiring looms that will work? Maybe Bartolini or EMG looms which are easily available?

Alembic AXY Active circuitry help?

If you are looking for similar filter type pres, then there's a couple available. Lusitand have a good rep and there are DIY such as Passinwind's designs.
Alembic pickups are loaded not by the pots, but directly into the pre's buffer stages, so any preamp that doesn't have a similar topology and is active/passive will never sound the same. It's my understanding that the AXY are low winding so they'll need a pre with more gain than common pre's provide. I never measured mine in the SC Sig I owned.
There is nothing Alembic clone that's plug and play on the market to the best of my knowledge.
