We've been carrying Alembic bass strings for a long time now, and we sell quite a few sets thanks to the wonderful interwebs. I never realized that Alembic offers a light guage set, so our inventory has in the past been limited to medium gauge (.045 G string) 4, 5 and 6-string sets. Turns out, Alembic occasionally offers a light guage 4-string set, and I just happened to catch them when they had some in stock. So now I have some in stock. :)

Come and get 'em!

I've got all the Alembic string sets back in stock now! Between the virus situation in CA and a major move on Alembic's part, they were unable to get me strings for a couple of months. Here's hoping things stay normal from here on!

You can grab them from our Reverb shop anytime:

Or give me a shout at 540-961-7655.

Our website sadly continues to be non-functional in terms of accepting payments. We went down a long, long path with a replacement piece of software that didn't pan out. Now we need to muster the energy and the cash to start all over again. Ugh.

11/24/21 - you can now find Alembic strings right on our new website!

How about the tension?
It's sort of annoying that there is no easily-accessible objective measurement source that compare the string tension of strings made by different manufacturers, or even commonly agreed-upon standards that allows us to discuss it among ourselves with some precision. End of rant...

I use and really like Alembic strings. My other go-to strings are DR Hi-Beams and, on some basses, Lo-Riders. For me, Hi-Beams are low tension roundwounds. I would compare the Alembics to Lo-Riders, and describe both as medium tension. I hope that helps a bit.

Hello. I need your professional help. I am looking strings for my Alembic Rogue 6 Custom. Usualy use Elixir Extra Long Scale strings (38 "). But their length from ball to taper is not enough. You can see on picture. Have problem to tune Low B. Can you recommend some strings with "extra-extra long" scale:)

I'm afraid that I don't have any experience with 38" scale basses. Some manufacturers share their ball to taper specs. I know La Bella does, for instance. Their Extra Long Scale spec is 38", so it's possibly right on the hairy edge like the strings you already have.

I'd check around with the usual suspects: DR, La Bella, D'Addario, GHS, etc. And hopefully one of them will have what you need AND be willing to sell it to you direct. It's probably not something your typical music store would stock just because of the rarity of 38" scale basses. If you find it but can't buy it direct, let me know and I'll see if I can order it for you.

Sorry to barge in, mods are welcome to remove if not allowed since Rocket doesn't sell these (and my apologies to Greg if so!) but SIT makes an "extra long scale" string with a 38" winding length.
