Ampeg 810E serial number question

Hi folks,

I know there are threads here about serial number dating and stuff but they're quite old and I don't wanna bump them so I made a new thread.

Since saturday I have a used 810E cab and I was wondering from what year it was. It's a plywood cab
and it says LOUD on the backplate. Also the S/N is EDCDU20454.

hey guys. have an ampeg cabinet which is a svt-810x..
the serial is I81PIAxxxx
So its 1996, Nov - right?
What is this P?
Also on the sign is only "Model: SVT-81 ... rest is scratched...
power handling is 1200W ...(found nothing with 1200W)
independence: 4 ohm
Its Made in USA, by Slim Electronics, St. Louis

Rico, your cab was made when they used the old SLM serial number scheme. They restarted the process in 2008, but obviously they restarted it later in the year. And they moved the digit around according to the model number. Usually it's somewhere around the 10th and 12th digit.

Help you in zero ways, but I think it's interesting :D
