Ampeg Scr-DI Not Powering Up Via 9v power adapter

I'm putting this in amps because the unit is a preamp. If in the wrong forum, I apologize. My SCR-DI isn't even 2 years old yet, but now when I use the 9v power adapter the Ampeg doesn't want to power up. If I put in a 9v battery it powers right up. The adapter works on other things I have, so I at least know that's not the issue. Any advice where to begin on trying to diagnose, and repair the problem? POS isn't even 2 years old yet, never been dropped, and the only time it gets moved off the desk is for routine dusting.

Check the polarity and the power supply rated output current. What kind of adapter is it?

Hosa Technology Universal AC/DC Adaptor 1200mA, with selectable voltage from 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, and 12. The polarity is set how it should be. It's the same adapter that was given to me with the unit close to 2 years ago. So I'm seriously doubting it's that. Like I said, it powers up my Digitech, and other things just fine.

9v power sockets have a center pin and a contact for the outside barrel. Insert the plug into the SCR-DI and wiggle it around. See if the power monentarily comes on. Sometimes the outer barrel contact gets bent away on these type of jacks and there isn’t enough force on the plugto make a good contact. The outside tab can be carefully bent outward with a jewelers screwdriver or needle to fix that issue.

Most often the problem is a break in the wire at the plug. In one position, it works, in another it doesn’t. As you’ve done, plug it into another unit and give the wire a good wiggle close to the connector. If the connection is intermittent while moving the wire, you’ll know that’s where the problem is.
