Hey all,

Hoping I can get some help with this, been searching online and couldn't find any information. I have 2 Ampeg SVT IIs and I noticed that the logo's are minutely on each head. Where the block Ampeg logo is filled in one, the other just has been outlined and same goes for the SVT II. Why did Ampeg do this with the II? What is the difference between these versions?

I have noticed the same cosmetic variance with my SVT II and my SVT 300 power amp (same as SVT II minus preamp). Only other difference I have noticed is that my SVT II has a power cord hard wired into the amp and my SVT 300 has a removable power cord. I'd be curious if one of your SVT's has the same power cord upgrade.

(Response to an older thread, I know)

The power cords are different on them. The solid “ampeg” model are the later versions and have a detachable cord. The outlined “ampeg” model’s cord is hardwired in (and I believe doesn’t have the protective grill on the back).
