I know we're in a bass forum but this could've happened with a bass - I bought a wall hanger Gretsch Electromatic G5420T from GC after trading in a few pedals. Apparently "new" but I could tell it had already been played - a lot. When I got it home and did the once over I noticed the Bigsby handle was loose. I'm pretty good at guitar repair and for the life of me I couldn't tighten the bigsby handle enough to make it snug (there is an attachment screw inside the spring that holds the handle on). I exchanged it for a different model Gretsch that I didn't like nearly enough (there was some finish issues but the bigsby handle was snug) as the og so I took that one back and had them order me a brand new/ITB G5420T to a different GC as I was moving. Come to find out that the salesperson at the og GC played the snot of the og Gretsch and told me as much - "This is my favorite guitar here! I play it all the time" - I think he may have damaged it. Anyway - He processed my new order UNDER A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NAME! He processed it under the name of RICHARD BENSON, which is totally not my name. I didn't notice until I called the new GC to find out if they had received it and had a look at my order papers. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with the new GC explaining everything. I was able to get my guitar the next day after all that. If I have to return I
