Any Opinion on Performance of Aguilar GS112 pair vs Genz Benz Uber 212?

I'm debating between the 2 of these. Searched but couldn't find any thread with the direct comparison. Overall I loved the GS112 stack and regret selling it. I found it had a rather sufficient lows, but anyone know how it would compare with the Uber 212 in terms of volume and low end?

I'm looking for something that can play decently well without PA support. The head would most likely be a Shuttle 6.0.

Not really thinking so much about tone, but just sheer output and volume.

Also if anyone has any experience comparing the Uber 212 to a 410, that would be real helpful, too.

I had a pair of the Aguilar 112s at one point and didn't like them - tended to fart out a louder volumes and seemed too dark. Ironically the cab that I replaced them with was a Uber 212 - that was a great cabinet, sounded great, could handle power and sounded great both soft and loud. Wish that I still had it, sold it because I wanted to go back to a modular rig (2-112s) but the Uber was the bomb.

The head will make a big difference. I've used a pair of GS112's for years, they sound great. They definitely do not fart out at loud volumes when I use them, even when using a Meatbox to pump in super low tones. I've had no issues with them being dark, I usually use an Aguilar TH350 or Darkglass M900.

Thank you, that is helpful to know. I personally loved the Aguilar 112s, so this is good info. Was the volume more prominent on the Uber? I'm guessing it was.

Yeah, I generally loved the GS112s, too. Never tried a meatbox with it, but I want to find a cab that can handle one!

yeah, certainly seemed like it to me. I was using them first with a GK 1001RB, then with a Genz Benz Streamliner. I liked the sound of the Aggies in general, but the Uber was just a bigger sound. I could use that cab for fairly large outdoor gigs with no FOH support.

all the uber cabs i'd had a chance to play kicked butt, but what's the advantage of the uber 212 over the uber 410? they look to be the same size and shape, and the 410 has gotta win in terms of output. is it just about a weight difference?

410 bigger and can handle more power. Also heavier. Didnt own one but the 212 was all that I wanted - couldnt see the need for anything bigger than the 212.
