Just came across this on Thomann when looking for a passive DI.
We don't have this in music stores here, so don't have the option to try one.
Has anyone really tried one? Will it work on bass? Analog speaker simulation on a passive DI sounds like just what I want for now.

Making a DI with a speaker simulator (an analog low pass filter) is a relatively straightforward process - not all that much to it. That said, Palmer makes good soild stuff (they're kind of the kings of certain kinds of simple, solid, effective stuff in Europe). The times I've run into their gear (in Europe and on the USA) it's always worked as intended.

While toying with the idea of buying a second Palmer PDI-09 and realizing it’s been discontinued, I came across an online vendor that says this is the replacement for it. It seems to have all the identical features, plus give the option of bypassing the speaker sim, which the PDI-09 doesn’t do.

I’ve had excellent results gigging the PDI-09 going on 8 years now. I’ll definitely get the ilm if I do pull the trigger on a second DI.
