Lots of stands out there in the world and for stage use I have a Hercules locking stand...

...but my wife has only now realized that having a bass in our 'presentable living space' (living room, dining room or bedroom) is sort of a fact of life...and she's tired of moving whatever bass I'm using for my daily workout. And she's allowed that if 'we' have to live with one around, is there a nice presentable stand available?

Any thoughts on a stand (not a wall hanger, etc) that's decent and fits in less with stage and more with 'furniture'? I have plenty of metal folding etc. looking for something that fits in a 'grown up' space.

These are a long dollar - like a new MIM Fender long, but they do answer your ask.

SM Design Guitar Stands by Take a Stand

Wow. Those look really nice. I like the WM shape even better. That pricing isn't out of the ballpark, but definitely healthy. I wonder if they make one big enough (or custom) that would work for my Dingwalls. Thanks! Some really nice options. Right in line with what I was hoping to find.

I thought I would add some pics for those that don't follow links:

I hear you, except $30 wouldn't even purchase the wood blanks for some of their offerings.

True for.some of the most exotic ones. But you can't swing a dead cat without hitting flamed maple in his shop. Most of it came from old tables or other furniture in houses he sold. I think we're going into the guitar stand business.

I doubt patents would be very enforceable for the functional aspects of those stands. I would guess that trademarking the designs would carry more weight.

This is a free country. You are permitted to doubt and guess about whatever you choose.

I was merely giving a TB brother the heads up that they have their patent numbers prominently displayed on their webpage.
