I've seen different recommendations for replacing the speakers in an SWR Redhead. I have the 240watt model and I'm thinking of using either the Eminence Legend CA10-8 or the Weber Bass 10FH. They're both about the same price. I've used guitar speakers from both companies over the years but no experience with the bass speakers. Any thoughts appreciated.

What works at the frequencies a guitar works at does not translate into the bass world. To handle low frequencies well, a driver has to be supported by the enclosure designed for it. Changing driver types doesn’t work that well for a bass cabinet. It could work well but more likely it will rip itself to shreds or just sound poor.

Definately Eminence

And the higher quality cast frame tens is basically what SWR would have used.

There is likewise a newer CA driver which is based on Edens very high efficiency 10" speaker. And would give a combo alot more senisitivity/ more SPL
