Just wondering about any experiences with this paring, particularly the MB800 with a pair of C4s... The C4 is 8 ohms and 400w so technically the MB800 should be a nice match with a pair?

Anyone using GK MB800 head with Phil Jones Bass C4 cabs?

I have an MB500 paired with 2 C4 cabs, while not exactly the same as your it does sound phenomenal.
I know this is an old Post. I am replying for informational purposes.
I just got a GK MB 800 yesterday and hooked it to a couple of c4s that I got about 6 months ago. This setup was made for a modern aggressive sound without the need for pedals or effects.
I own multiple models of cabs from Eden, Hartke, GK, and Ampeg along with various amps, preamps and effects. This new GK and the C4s blow them all away.
My son, who has a good ear and plays through a Fractal Audio AX8, Quilter tone block, and a Mesa 212 with EVM12L's, has said it is probably the best tone I have found since we have been playing together these past 10 years.
