Aria Pro II Magna Series: Anybody know anything about this bass?

Hi everyone! First time to post here!

I'm looking to upgrade my bass, but before that I wanted to know more about the bass that I currently own. It's an Aria Pro 2 Magna Series bass, PJ pickups. My parents bought it for me about 9 years ago. We got it from a 2nd hand music store by the city port for about $70. Sounded nice and liked the feel and look of it.

Anybody know about this one? I'm thinking if it's worth it to upgrade the pickups haha. Thanks guys!

Never heard of it. Looks a lot like the Aria pro II The Cat bass. Welcome to TB!

i think they came out in the early 90s...there were 5 string versions available that had two J pickups........thats all I remember about them......Agree with Bass V: Aria Pro series has never really made a dud

they were pumping out so much product it mostly flowed past the US buying public like a flash flood for decades, in retrospect I can't find anything but high quality, and most of it looks cool. The Cat model is indeed much like the black and gold PJ pic'd above, a timeless styling, but I don't recall any name players sporting AP IIs as their mains and they were certainly a classic '80s/'90s image. yet as a manufacturer they've done it all, their vintage copies of Strats and P / J basses were perfect, in another life I envision an entire collection of nothing but AP II guitars & basses and ruling the world lol what an incredible company history, largely unsung.
I want one of these for couch noodling and travel...

I had one in the mid to late 90's. in expensive but lightweight and fun. id take another one just to have as a second.

Speaking of "the cat". Here's mine, modded with shaller hardware, bass mods 3 band EQ with passive tone control and 18v electrics.

I have one of these basses. It's one of my secret weapons. I bought it used a long time ago from a friend of mine. Really fast neck, really ergonomic body. It records well too.

I had one about 25years ago, i loved the body, though the neck was too skinny for mw at the time. I let it go to pieces and sold it in a garage sale... I am actively looking for one as we speak.

"Sexy little critter" I agree !!! I have just purchased one exactly like the one pictured, it's stunning in black and gold. Was trying to do research about it and found this post.
