Avatar B210 Speaker Replacement

Hey guys!

A while ago I bought an Avatar B210 directly from Avatar, but through eBay. It came loaded with some Celestion speakers that I've really tried to like, but I don't. The bass response just isn't there. I want to replace them with some Eminence Deltalite II 2510s. I just want some opinions to see if its worth spending the money. I play 4,5, and 6 string basses and would like to make sure that this 2x10 would be suitable for them all.

Here's a link to the speakers:

Thanks for the help!

Is this the B210 design that you have?

Happy to be corrected if wrong, but waay back when (I think 2003), when that version of the B210 design was released, I believe it came loaded with ceramic Eminence Delta 10s. Rumor has it that that box design was originally developed with help from Eminence... again, at that point in time probably around those Delta 10 drivers.

Personally, I have one of those B210s and have played with it with the original Delta 10s, and with the later Avater OEM ceramic Delta 10s. I can tell you that to my ear, I greatly preferred those original stock Deltas for whatever reason. Those would be my recommendation, as long as you don't mind the cab weighing 50lbs... I think those drivers are also pretty cheap though... YMMV.

I'm not really sure how those Deltalites compare spec-wise to the ceramic Deltas.

You can call US Speaker and give them the interior dimensions and the dimensions of the port/vent. They will give you several speakers to choose from based on the physics, your budget and your tone/volume goals.

They sell the deltalite ii 2510 as an alternate for this cab. I just wanted to see if people thought it sounded good with those speakers.

My Avatar B210 is loaded with Deltalite ii 2510s. It was on consignment at a music store gig. I gave the cab a test drive for the gig and fell in love with it. Been gigging with it for a year and still love it.

Note that I've only played a 4 string through it so I can't comment on how it will be with a 5 or 6 string.

I too recommend calling Dave. He is a great guy and very helpful. I've been using that same cabinet in my upright rig for many years. He was instrumental in helping me make a decision on what cabinet to buy.

Been gigging two Avatar 210 cabinets loaded with Eminence 2510 Neo's for almost 10 years.

Never a problem, with great, solid low end to my ears.

I'm playing a old, passive, 4 string jazz into a Mesa M-6 Fathom/Carbine head in a LOUD outlaw country band.
The Avatars have been great!

Update: The new deltalites arrived on Saturday from Avatar. Saw the package when I got home from a long hike, but decided it was worth putting them in that night. I ended up staying up most of the night playing once they were in. The B210 sounds great now!!! Lots of low end with clarity and punch. It was definitely worth the switch! On a lighter side, if anyone wants a pair of Celestion B10-200S speakers, I have some hahaha

I really hope that your cabinet does not have dementia! :)
I have that cabinet with Celestions , perhaps in a feeble attempt to be more Marshally. Also the regular ceramic Delta version and you might not hear much difference . I got a neo version that sounds 'different'. The big change is when you stack them . Three cabinets put out like a SVT; one cabinet won't push 5string lows all that loud (to my ears).
