Double Bass Back from Spring/Summer Chores

Ready to continue my Bass building project. The ribs and flat back are connected. The neck is formed and ready for installation. Now carving the front.
I have a book that wasn't available when I started this project. "So ...You Want to Make a Double Bass" by Peter Chandler. I like his presentation.
He gives the extended fingerboard height at the bridge line as 155mm to 165mm. I am confused as to wether this is measured from the mold top or from the completed front. That is a ~50mm difference.

Well -- you can figure it out since you know the maximum height of your top arch, right? Besides, you won't be installing the neck until the top is finished.

I recon figuring out the neck projection and angle are the trickiest part of bass building.

From the completed top. You will have the box closed by the time you get to the neck
