Bakelite saddles for my 1953-4 P

I've got a pair of bakelite saddles crafted by Evan Webb for my 1953-4 P bass. Here's a couple of pics. They cost $30. Here's his info:

Nice. The bakelite does take a little bit of edge off the tone, from my experience and memory of having played a bass with the bakelite saddles many, many years ago.

That guy that sells those is a cool dude.

I bought a set of the reliced phenolic saddles with screws, he spaced my shipment for a week or two (no big, was buying for a future project), and he sent me (along with my original purchase) a set of brass saddles with screws.

What a guy.

HipShot, Babicz, and Webbteca Musical Industries are all quality, thoughful outfits, IMO.

Yeah he sure is a cool dude, just received my aluminium fatties and found he packed an additional pair of the fibre ones as well.. The engineering on these is of a high quality as well, very precise thread work.. Nice guy to correspond with as well, obviously very passionate about the product.. gonna give both these saddles a try out..
