Bass distortion

Will need to go into distortion pedal territory (not OD or fuzz) for the 1st time. Can't use the MS60B for that, it's dedicated to other uses. A cranked PBDDI is not the sound I'm looking for, same for the Digitech Bass Driver.

I'm toying with an MXR DI+ sim, which is getting me close to what I want, more Geddy than Lemmy, if that makes sense.

The PBDDI is my core sound and not looking to change that, so the pedal will have to play nice with it (Digitech BassDriver doesn't). My gear is sigged.

Any suggestions ?

Thx for your help guys, I'll either go for the MXR M-85 or the Volt Thrower (that thing looks mean !), depending on the best deal I'll find. Got a little less play money since buying a Squier Vintage 70s natural colored Jazz Bass a couple of weeks ago. In the meantime, I found a way to have the Digitech work OK for me.

Dunwich Volt Thrower is a bass-friendly Rat-based design. The ODB can get pretty distorted, though it's traditionally described as an overdrive.

Fuzzrocious' Cat (Rat) Tail and Cat (Rat) King and Demon are also good sounding pedals.
