I was looking at Hercules stands. I see 2 types. 1 where the bass rests against the legs. The other basically hangs it. Which one is the best?
Thanks ! I can see why a jazz would sit crooked in a leg stand. I. Have MM style basses. My Warlock would have to hang, but it sits on thr floor pretty well on its own lol
And my Jazz doesn't like the legs and lean either, so it just stays in the case
A P bass would be happy in a leg stand though
So, yeah. It depends on the guitar
This is the right choice...with the fold outI assume you’re talking about the GS414B vs. the GS412B. They’re both equally good. on the GS414B the body of the bass rests against the tripod legs, the GS412B has a fold-out back rest that the body rests against, but this is invisible when there is a bass in the stand. The GS412B has a more compact footprint and is a little lighter.View attachment 7063360
Does the GS 414B fot wider necked bases, say a 6, or 5 string with 19mm spacing?GS 414B
My 5s with 19mm spacing hang on them fine.Does the GS 414B fot wider necked bases, say a 6, or 5 string with 19mm spacing?
The K&M stand is lighter, folds up thinner (I believe) and the Bass hangs with folding arms at the headstock. Also, the Bass hangs AND rests against the padded legs.I was looking at Hercules stands. I have one of each, and find they both work well. I find that the GS412B folds up a little awkwardly, so I use that one at home. I bring the GS415B to gigs. This is the right choice...with the fold out

A Jazz Bass can be secure on this K&M floor stand, but when putting it on the stand I have to take extra care to make sure it's properly seated in the stand. My Warlock would have to hang, but it sits on thr floor pretty well on its own lol
