Bass templates

Hi All,

been a while since i've posted anything but its time for another project - forgive me if its not really the right place to post this also...?

Does anyone have a source for G&L body templates? I'd like to build an L1000 and wondering if someone has a template either drawn up in cad or knows where to get one.

P Bass or J bass templates are easy enough to come across and i may end up using one of them but i'd prefer to get as close to the L1000 as possible.

most likely going to be L1000 electronics, pickup & bridge, tele bass neck & chrome hardware. All rough ballpark ideas at the moment, but i need to start somewhere with the templates.

anyone? or does anyone have a L1000 they'd want to measure up?

Why not just pull up a few body shots from the net and scale them to figure out the dimensions? I do this and import the jpgs into my CAD software, but it can be done "old school" as well.

that was my backup plan - i use cad daily so should be easy enough.
Might need a starting dimension etc to scale from though.

I've done CAD tracings using the same method, find one or two components of known dimension (buy a G&L bridge) and use them as scaling devices, or just use the distance from nut to 12th fret centerline, which is known for a standard 34" scale, as your scaling device. In my case, I bought a Ric bridge and pickguard, found some high-res photos online, and traced using the spline tool.
