Bass to Ukulele and Vice-Versa

Do TAB and chords for Bass and Ukulele 'translate' directly between one another?

I'm thinking they wouldn't since Bass is usually EADG and Uke is usually gCEA.

Uke is about the most fun thing in the world to play though. I’ve been switching over to uke whenever bass gets in a rut.

I agree with lz, if you know how to play guitar it translates very well to uke but not so much for bass.
