Hi everyone, I wanted to share a Bass VI project of mine that I released last Friday as Dark Chase.

Drops - Single by Dark Chase

I recorded and layered 20+ tracks ENTIRELY PLAYED on my Bass VI, expanding the timbre and functional role simply varying my technique, effects and recording method.
I tried to explore space and juxtaposition of sounds and themes in an orchestral manner, and I think the outcome is quite influenced by some works by Brian Eno and Dead Can Dance, to name a few.
The second track features spoken words, resulting in a surreal, gloomy David Lynch-esque cinematic vibe. It was originally conceived as a short story by a friend of mine, you can look him up on Twitter/IG as "Vorpalblaster", although those stories are not in English.

As always, if you like it please do share the links and feedback, as word of mouth is vital at this stage for such things. If you don't like it, feel free to insult me, as long as you do it artistically

Oh yes, a few codes (first come, first served) if you want to grab the uncompressed download from Bandcamp for free - click here for the link:

Why do bass guitarists never bother to read and blindly post on the DB side?
Hi @KUNGfuSHERIFF
(nice handle, BTW)
Thanks for your helpful heads-up, I was browsing directly from TalkBass' main grid of forums and in all honesty I didn't spot the [DB] besides "Recordings". My bad, I probably got a bit confused by the layout.

To be true, I have to point out that this instrument is in fact a 6-string Bass VI with narrow neck, tremolo and so on, so it probably adds even more heresy to this. On the other hand, I also trained in classical double bass, so hopefully that'll make up for my mistake, albeit very minimally.

For now, I think the most constructive thing to do from my side is to apologise and notify a MOD (@SteveC @Chris Fitzgerald ) to kindly move this thread to the most appropriate section, which I guess you probably did as well in the first place.

Kind regards,

Eman C.
