Just joined a 60s soul band, and since I dont need effects,I wont need the AX8,and dont want to use the Markbass rig. Fancied the idea of of getting an old Fender Bassman 135,and a Fender 215 cab from the same era. This is a low volume gig, so I thought just for fun it would be nice to have this set up. Playing a stack knob Jazz,of course. Any thoughts on the rig?

I used to use a rig like this back in the day, in the same kind of band. I had the 135, but it went into a Kustom tuck n roll, 215 cab, loaded with JBL’s. Great sounding cab cab for that 60’s Soul sound. Jamerson used to use one on his live gigs, with the Kustom head.

Hi 73jbass :)

This head will certainly get you into the mood for soul and R&B stuff!
I would go with a more modern cab, maybe two 115s instead of on big 215?
That helps for the schlepp and sounds soooo much better than the vintage cab!!!

I would not even take Fender cabs...
(rather put the Fender grill cloth on some highend cabs to match the look :hyper:)

but that' s just me! :D

have fun with your new band
