I'm currently running a Fender Bassman 500 into a Rumble 410. I like it and yet I don't. I can't describe exactly what it is but there's something that leaves me just ...meh... overall. I've tried out the all tube Bassman 100 with the Rumble 410 and while it was nice, there was still something just ...meh... about it. Maybe it's the cabinet?

Who has experience with both the Rumble 410 and 410 Neo? Would difference in tone and feel could i expect between the two? I can't try out the Neo anywhere locally without ordering it first, so that's not an option at the moment.

A few things: get your rig up on a stand, much closer to ear level and put an HPF or HPF/LPF in your signal chain to tighten up the low end and tame the top end.

Have you heard your rig FOH to hear how you sit in the mix vs. rehearsals vs. room tone.?

I have the 410 Neo and played on the rumble 410 at the store. I love the Neo with the 100T head, it's just made to go together. I'm currently waiting to meet up with someone selling a rumble 500 head so I'll know soon.

What I can say is the Neo has such a natural punchy presence to it. Great bottom end and cuts through the mix nicely. I felt the rumble 410 sounded fine but it didn't have a refined sound to my ears. I too felt it was missing something, it's hard to describe, I just took a chance and bought the Neo online and haven't looked back.

Differences:

Rumble 410....$399.99
Standard, inexpensive, stamped steel framed Eminence (of China?) crem., drivers.
Short throw tweeter.
On/off switch for tweeter.
Crossover? If there is one, probably from Eminence of China.

Pro Series 410 Neo....$799.99
Top shelf cast frame Eminence U.S.A. 2510 Neo drivers.
Long throw Foster compression driver horn.
Crossover, Eminence.

There's a few cosmetic differences also.

(FYI, I don't own/gig either of these cabinets, this is info I gathered around the net when I was researching new cabinets.)

Only used the Bassman cabs and a Rumble 500C combo, which is a cool combo, but the Bassman cabs are a special series. Love my 115s.
The info @shoot-r lists is spot on. And seems to ring true. I find my 115 Bassman cabs too be clearer and more articulate, and also another to take a good deal more power without seeming stressed.... but this is compared to the internal 210s in the 500C, so. .....?

Plus, the Bassman 410 is 3.3 kilograms lighter than the Rumble.

Ditch the tens altogether and get a pair of Bassman Pro 115 Neo cabinets. $650 a piece. They'll put some powerful air moving meat into your tone. Better dispersion too.

I run a Rumble 500c into a 410 Bassman Neo and/or a 115 Bassman Neo when I don't want to haul or risk the SB. There are a few things I like about the cabs more than the Rumbles, tried them both and their great cabs for the money. It's just a matter of personal choice and budget. :)
