Becker vs englehardt

There is a plywood Becker for sale locally. $900, new, factory set-up (so it needs one), crack in the rib...looks like someone put it down in something carelessly and it cracked through the rib. The action is a little low for me too, so I might need to invest in a new bridge. It doesn't project particularly much, but I think it could project more set up better. Quality seems pretty good, its just not a very inspiring instrument.
