Is there a specific skill you want to learn??? Thumb slapping? Soloing?? Walking Bass?? I feel your pain, but your question is really open ended.... Give me an area that you want to improve upon and we'll make some positive suggestions. Cool??

I suggest you listen to alot of records and watch YouTube. That would somehow help you.

I hear ya about not being able to afford a teacher. I wasn't able to afford lessons myself when I first really got into bass.

Others here has probably better suggestions. So, just keep at it. Goodluck with learning. :)

thanks for youre advice i stick with the internet its just i cant find a complete lessons to build me up.. i dont want to be the bassist that plays the bass only, i want to be high lighted, like the drums and the guitar when soloing, people appreciate what they do.. but when i solo i just scale the bass... and as i see with the people that watching me they dont like what i do... its just not so amazing i guess like the drums and the guitar.... any way thanks i appreciate your replay...

ahm, i can slap and soloing but its not beautiful like when i watch the other plays there bass...it goes like this, what i see in the internet or youtube i apply it to my bass bass but it sound not like what ive watch and not nice sound. i need a lessons from zero to something. i want to be a professional bassist. i need a pattern that i can learn one by one with a good result in the end... thank you for replying.. really hope that i can learn more here

Hey Jackson! I'd suggest doing Skype lessons with a good educator if you can afford it and can't find in-person lessons. There are a few great bass educators out there. Watch out for great players that charge a lot but don't really know how to teach. There is so much to bass and you should try to find a teacher that knows their bass! Best of luck! I don't think YouTube would suffice. Only a real mentor can help you get there. The bass and music has so much to it! -Kristin Bidwell
