Behringer x32 and my bass

Hi there, actually Im using a fender american p bass and a peavey t-40 as my main basses (both passive) and in my church we are using a X32 which has a lot of things to do on it, all of the instruments go to the behringer x32 but my bass not, Im using an acoustic b600h and the b810 cabinet to run the bass, could you recommend me to use the Direct out from my bass head and send the bass to a channel on the mixer?
What are the benefits using the mixer instead my acoustic bass rig?
I would use the PRE EQ to have my acoustic as my monitor and the other signal will going to the JBL subwoofer (SRX828).

Any other thoughts? Im open to hear all your tips and comments :):bassist:

Here is my gear, no pedals or any Di box.

Sure, send the FOH a feed from your amp if it can do that.
The benefit is the the sound guy can blend you bass into the mix with the other instruments.
The down side is that THEY then have control over your mix in the PA.
As a sound guy, I'll take a DI bass feed any day.
As long as you can keep your stage volumes low and not over-power the mix, then everyone benefits.

It makes no difference what the churches mixer is, the concept of sending them a DI signal is universal and used by many churches, local bands and most pro's.

Okay, sending a signal from the amp head to the mixer in a channel will be mono sound or stereo?

Would u use any di box between the bass and bass amp head?

Sending "a signal from the amp head to the mixer in a channel" will be mono. There's no point in a stereo bass feed, as bass (in the PA or on stage) is omni-directional anyway.

It's going to depend.
Does your amp head have a PRE/POST DI option? If not, check in the OM (Owners Manual) which it is. Also check that your master volume doesn't impact the DI signal level out.
If it does have that option, most FOH folks want a PRE feed (tapped BEFORE EQ, effects, etc.) versus a POST (after EQ, etc.) as they have greater control, and the signal level/tone won't change if you suddenly decided to boost mids in the middle of a song!

If you want to send FOH a clean signal straight from your bass, then a simple passive DI (there's plenty to choose from such as Radial JDI or Countryman) that will work. Active (powered) DI's have a huge set of choices too. Think budget there.
Hope this helps.

You can use the direct out (XLR) from the back of the B600. The signal will be mono. Just keep in mind that any changes you make to the tone controls may affect the signal to the mixer – check your manual to see if the direct out is pre-EQ or post-EQ.

Edit - I see s0c9 beat me to the punch. :)

Great information, and yes, the amp head has pre eq & post eq switch, I would use the pre eq to have a little volume on the cabinet (this to have my own monitor)

And yes I want to send a clean signal without any overdriven signal or other effect, so I’ll take a look over the passive di boxes

If your amp has PRE signal choice, then [FYI] you don't NEED a separate DI box, but you CAN use one.

I like that option, direct out but also have a mic on the cabinet, are u using the pre eq mode in your bass amp head?

We use the same system at our church. I send two signals to the board - one clean signal from a Radial JDI, and then a SM57 that's on my cab. What our FOH engineer does from there is an unknown to me but in my monitor mix I have both signals and can shift the pan/volume of either on the fly.

no, the signal won't go "to the subwoofer", it goes to the whole PA. some will be in the subwoofer, some will be in the top boxes. that's got nothing to do with you, you just send a good bass signal to the PA and the soundguy does what's needed with it.

When I play at church, I’m stuck giving the sound guy a a direct out signal from my Euphonic Audio amp. I’ve got two problems - the sound guy doesn’t know what he’s doing and I don’t think the X32 sounds all that great. I used to use a Midas analog console that had far superior sound to any of the low and mid level digital consoles.

Well, I think the X32 is the cheaper version of the midas lol
