Winter time experimenting: sorry in advance for the long post.
OK... I have been messing around with my gear. I've recently acquired a Berg NV115 which I've wanted for a long time. I dig it but have not gigged with it yet. I got it because my band is getting more 'Brew Pub gigs which are normally very live rooms, a bit boomy and lower volume. (Note: I alway run a DI signal via my Demeter VTBP-M-800D with the excellent Jensen DI. out of the FOH. I love this amp. I think the 400w going into a single 8ohm NV115 will be fine for the stand alone Pub gigs. It is just as 'loud' as a single HD112 but of course the HD is ported and provides a bit more low end but really to my ear its not that much more and can be tweaked to at least be equal on the lows. I do love the sound of a 15" and have missed that.
I normally use both my HD112's and like them very much. I have a gig coming up where I normally use two cabs and would like to try out the NV and HD instead of the two HD's. So the brain picking' begins.
I do realize that sealed and ported cabs are not ideal coupled, but in my practice room they sound pretty darn good together. I have been putting the HD112 on the bottom which I know normally is kinda backwards but with the HD on top the NV115 is harder to hear.
One of my concerns is what will occur on stage standing close to the rig and what will happen with the long throw to the room out in front. ?? What I've noticed with the HD112 stack is if I walk out about 10-15 ft. I notice quite a drop-off of loud/low end probably because my ears have adjusted to the louder lower sound standing close to the rig. More than likely. The NV115 is supposed to have a more immediate response but looses some lows being sealed. When I use the HD stack I hear the lows start to take over the balance somewhere in the middle of the gig... could be a lot of reasons like my old ears which are suffering from hearing lose in the 'high' ranges.
Recommendations:
Put the NV115 on the bottom either vertical or horizontal?
Leave the HD112 on the bottom and turn the tweet down or off. Note: NV provide plenty of highs.

4 pc Classic Rock Band. Two geetars, drums, bass.
Sadowsky Jazz, Demeter VTBP, GK MB Fusion is my backup amp (not in love with this amp)
For normal gigs everyone mic's or runs a signal to the FOH for that little extra.
Drummer runs the PA and uses a ear monitor in one ear to hear the FOH.. works pretty good IMO.
