Best Death Metal patch for the Helix?

I play in a technical death metal band and i use the Line 6 Helix as my live rig.

Been trying for ages to get that spanky but gritty patch that lays down the filthy low end but still clanky to shine through on the runs but i cant quite nail it.

Any one got any patches that they swear by?

For reference the tone I am aiming for is Demonocracy by Job For A Cowboy.

Thanks guys

You are going to want to use a seperate clean tone for lows and grit for your highs. The obsidian patch in the helix is a sim of the darkglass b7k preamp/overdrive that tons of these newer heavy bands seem to like and could be a good place to start. I personally favor using a amp of your choice for the lows then find a distortion or guitar amp sound that you like for your gritty tone then use high pass and low pass to taste. I know the band Jinjer's bassist uses a helix and gets a pretty massive sound you could check out his videos on youtube see if he has any patches for download to get you started.

Thanks alot man. I have a pretty decent tone but its just not quite there yet.
Jinjer bass player has a great tone so ill check that out

query DG Emulator on the Line 6 custom tone site. The original creator could've used only one path and split with a freq split block, but opted for two channel with eq blocking to keep clean lows. i've altered the gain on the high path to about 4, with it mapped to the expression pedal min=4, max =10 so I can roll in more grit as needed. I don't use his pitch shift blocks at all.

This might be the video he discusses his approach to his helix patch??

Perhaps. I came upon that video last night after looking the dude up. I didin't find anything particularily different with his approach to compression. Just a moderate (4:1) one pre processing and one lighter post (3:1) to keep everything in check.

Bit of a zombie thread but Im considering a helix or a axe fx. Seems like the easiest option to get what I want. Did you ever get your patch the way you wanted ? I also play tech death. Are you playing finger style ? Every video I've seen has been pick.

Hello
I have a helix LT love it for bass and guitar. I play both pick and finger. I downloaded the suggested patch above. Is a little rough but manageable. GL
