Right now the first piece of gear I would like to use in my signal chain is my dbx 166xl compressor, but it takes line level low impedance signals while the bass signal itself is obviously high impedance. The three pieces of gear I am considering are the following:

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to go with just a straight direct box or if I should get the tube unit.
If I go with a direct box, is it worth the extra $10 for the extra shielding? Whatever unit I pick will be velcro'd to the shelf in my rack, so it will be somewhat close to other gear.
