Hey folks! Looking for a smaller and lighter 210 setup for some of the smaller gigs that I play! I play bass in a moderately guitar heavy 5 piece rock group - standard EADG with some drop D and 1/2 step.

For reference I have a "big show" setup with a Fender Super Bassman 300 and Fender Pro Neo 610 and a "small show" setup with a Ampeg V4B reissue and Pro Neo 410.

I used to own a Fender Rumble 500 (210) (Just not my fav overall amp tone) and a Mesa TT800 and Subway 212 (great setup but sold to fund my super bassman)

I'd like to go down in size for some of the small gigs and get a nice light 210 that could work well with my V4B (or even one of those new Ampeg VB 700s when they actually come out) I have a few options lined up and would love some input from people - looking for lightweight, high wattage, and a good cab for that V4b tubey goodness

Barefaced Two10ST
Genzler Bass Array2-210-3STR
Mesa Subway 210

Open to any and all suggestions!

Barefaced for me , although the Mesa is close. You probably won't get as many voting for Barefaced since they are a small company compared to Mesa so fewer people have had real world experience of them.

I have two Peavey 210 cabs. 52lbs each but feel much lighter - actually the LIGHTEST 52lbs I've ever toted. The large side handles make them very easy to transport. You can't beat this price. They sound great and Sweetwater will ship them right to your door.

I have a Revsound RS210 that I like a lot. I was unconvinced, when it arrived, but after a couple of shows, I'm entirely sold. It has this loud, punchy, controlled low end, and I've gotten comments on my sound both times I've used it.

I know you are looking for a 2x10, but I have the 1212L from Schroeder that is smaller and lighter than most 2x10s. No, I don't know how he did it! One of the drivers is canted back, allowing the cab to be much smaller. Sounds GREAT with huge output. No longer in production, but available if you look. I use mine as an extension cab for my 121P Markbass combo. 500W and 3 x 12s! Woo Hoo!

No I don't work for Sweetwater. I just wanted to share these under appreciated cabinets. I was on a strict budget when I bought mine and I'm very happy with them.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks! Thinking of leaning to the Barefaced - not too into the hifi sound and from what I can read the barefaced might do the trick - anyone know if it's worth it to order with or without a tweeter?

I have a Barefaced 210. Great choice and I have never missed a tweeter with it. Plenty of highs there if you want them, just crank the treble a bit. Fantastic vintage sound and I have never found an amp that sounds bad through it. I generally use it with a Bergantino Forte Hp but is also a great match with my Mesa 800+ and just loves all the tubes in my Orange AD200. Frankly you just can't go wrong with it and I have had a few far more proficient players than me play through it then offer to buy it.
