BFM Jack 15 Piezos?

Am interested in building a BFM Jack 15 cabinet but am unsure about number of piezos.
Are they only intended if you're using the speakers for PA purposes? I'm going to be using it strictly for bass guitar. Can anyone who's built/used a Jack speaker recommend adding/omitting them? Considering using Eminence deltalite 2515. Thank you.

I built a 210, and I used 10 in a flat array, but I haven't used the array with it in quite a while. I'm playing a lot of classic rock and I'm not looking to extract every upper harmonic.

When I did have it attached and I used it for vocal stuff it was pretty sweet. People could hear and understand voices forever away (like across a high school grounds and across the street).

So if you're just doing basic bassy things with the cab I say it's unnecessary, but if you're looking for clean, broad highs use them.

The easiest thing to do is to build it with the crossover and the highband resistor, but no array, then you can listen to it for a while and then decide if you want to add the piezo array.

Thanks, that makes sense. Shouldn't be hard to add them if I decide it doesn't have enough high end.

10 years ago, I built a Jack 12 with the full melded array 16 piezo
There's a switch to turn on or off half or all of them.

At the time I built the cab the piezo were cheap, So yeah I went with it
and I wanted to see what Bill's design was all about, the whole experience. I'm still using it to this day.

If you're going with a more modern bass tone or slapping the piezo can help a bit, if you like that sort of thing.

Hope to see some pics of your Jack15 build
