Bill Lawrence EB60-PC wiring diagram

Hi All.

I'm always amazed at the amount of group knowledge on this forum, so.....does anybody have a wiring diagram for Bill Lawrence EB60 pick ups? I just bought some to stick in a cheapie SX bass that I bought and am struggling to figure the wiring out. I saw a thread from a few years ago that said to solder the red wire on the back of the tone pot. I would be really grateful for any suggestions.

Sounds like you have three wires on each half. Bill ALWAYS had grounded magnets, hence the third wire. Send them to ground. Look for the two with the same color. Those are the mag grounds. From there usually series them. first Half: white to pots, green or red to the second half green or red, the final usually black to ground.

Do you have a multimeter? Check for resistance across pairs of wires. You should be able to discover a pair that make up the coil (they'll have a typical resistance in the 5 - 10k range for most pickups). And, there will be one other wire per pickup that will show an open circuit to the other wires. The wire that shows open circuit is the ground for the shielding and slug in the pickups - it should go to ground (back of a pot, straight to the jack ground terminal, etc). The two wires with a resistance reading are the coil wires - one goes to ground and the other goes to hot.
