Does this exist? I see coated strings but are those coated roundwounds or coated flatwounds? I really want the black string aesthetic on my new bass but I recently bought some Thomastik-Infeld JAZZ Flat Wounds and love them so I am wondering is there a black flatwound string? Or should I just get Tapewounds? I worry tapewounds will be too much thud but maybe not.

Opinions? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Yes I know black strings blah blah blah color shouldn't matter yeah yeah.

D'addario make black tape wound strings.they are round wound underneath, but feel completely like flat wound.....they sound great to me ....I have them on a Black Sterling SUB4...partially for colour ( ;) ) and partially because they sounded so good on my buddy's MIJ P-bass..I would say they are bright yet similar to flats, warm and mellow sounding...they respond well to EQ-ing on the bass and amp....they feel smooth on the fingers......but I'm no expert

Try out Labella Black Nylon Tapewounds.

I recently switched to them from TI Jazz Flats and I wish I had known about them sooner. They have a very similar tension and mid focused tone like TI Jazz Flats, perhaps even a bit looser tension, but they're very smooth also.

It also helps that they look nice
