Blend Pot cutting volume

So I'll make this quick. I've built several basses over the last 2 years, 3 different models, all toting basically the same electronics and hardware combos. They sound great, but couldn't figure out why the overall output was not as high as other basses, even basses I own personally.
Quick specs...
(Applies to all)
18v Aguilar OBP 3 preamp
Active/Passive switch, always in passive tone
Volume/tone, Blend, Treble/Bass, push/pull Mid
Bartolini pickups

So just recently, I finished 2 basses within a week of eachother, identical electronics and hardware setups. One of them had an issue with the Noble 250k blend pot that came with the preamp, so I swapped it out for an All Parts...
Night and day, literally! After a bunch of AB tests and finally swapping the other blend pot, I realized that's been the culprit all along. Not saying that its a bad pot, just that for my particular wiring, it was choking the sound in either active or passive. Needless to say, moving forward, I won't be using that blend pot in these wiring setups. You guys have any thoughts or suggestions? Please share
