Boss GT-1000 and SY-200/C4

Hi everyone.

I've tried looking around and found very little info on combining synth pedals with the GT-1000. If any of you have these pedals in combination, I have the following questions:

1. Can you control the SY-200/C4 from the GT-1000? Or would that require separate MIDI controls or Footswitch attachments?

2. On the C4, where do you attach the external footswitches or exp pedals?

Thanks! I understand that GT-1000 can be used as a MIDI controller. Pardon my lack of knowledge on a number of things. I know that there's a Boss midi to 3.5in cable that I can connect between the GT-1000 and SY-200. Can I control the C4 in the same way from the GT-1000? Because I've not come across any instance of this online.
