Hello Everyone!

I am struggling choose between them. So wanted to ask your opinions.

I understand SY-1 is a better pedal in every way possible. Better tracking, gazillion different presets and all.

What I didn't understand is this, Is it possible with SY-1 to capture all the sounds you get from a SYB-5? I mean, is SY-1 "SYB-5 and more" or a completely different synth pedal?

Because I really love some sounds you get from a SYB-5 but apparently SY-1 is newer and better.

Ulgen,
I have the Behringer clone of the SYB5 and none of those sounds are on the SY1. It may explain why they are still selling both pedals concurrently.

Thank you! So in my case it will be better to go for SYB5 because I love the sound. But what I head is tracking is an issue for the SYB5. Are you happy with the Behringer clone (sy600 I presume)? Do you have any suggestion to a fellow rick player? :)

The Behringer BSY600 is no longer being made so you would have to go used. I don't find the BSY600 has a lot of sounds you would use for a whole song, more of an envelope filter kind of vibe. Saying that, it can reasonably cop the Oberheim keyboard of Rush's Tom Sawyer. I use the SY1 for Rush tunes for their Taurus pedals sounds but this pedal has way more useful sounds depending on what you want to use it for.
I will also add that the BSY600 is glitchy whereas the SY1 tracks perfectly (as you said).
