So, to you Bongo players, especially 5'ers. What budget basses have you found that had the closest feel?
I'd like to have something to back up my Bongo when I have to be in those "less desirable" environments, hehe :]
Would also like something I wouldn't mind leaving at rehearsal so I can take the bike to practice, and then get the Bongo out at gigs without having to make a big adjustment.
I know a lot of you can transition seamlessly from one bass to another, but once I get used to one, the adjustment between basses is noticeable, especially on a gig where I have to sing while I'm playing.
Unless I find a good deal on a budget sixer, then I'll go that route, and sell the Bongo.
So, yeah, what are viable alternatives with a similar neck size and shape, string spacing, etc. to Bongo 5
