Just when I had learned to love my Mesa Buster at a volume that didn’t seep into every room of my neighbor’s house, the standby switch gave out, with weeks to go before I can have anything done about it. Obviously the world has bigger problems, and I’m not going under the hood of this thing for anything more complicated than a tube swap with my limited skills—but man, I had really hoped to enjoy playing through this amp at home more when my family started sheltering in place nearly a month ago (early COVID-19 case at my kid’s school; we seem to be fine), and it was bad enough when I learned that my neighbor couldn’t get away from the lows in her own house. Now it looks like not only several weeks, but several hundred dollars in soundproofing and repairs, before I can properly enjoy this amplifier again :sour: EDIT: I thought I would give Buster a try the following morning, and it behaved, with only minimal trouble from the switch.

Still: I’ve got this (bottom cab disconnected) …

… so I will get by.

I hope you and your quarantine rigs are holding up okay :bassist:

Fortunately they’re easily found at every price point. The orange edge wouldn’t work with a tobacco burst, though; I would go gold anodized in that case myself.

Black pickguards are my favorite. Bought one when I got my P. I need to remind myself that I should wait for my neck and body to come in from Warmoth so I get that P build done before getting another P. Went from a loyal BC Rich Mockingbird guy to a PBass obsessive really quick, haha.

That all makes a lot of sense to me, haha. A bizarre set of circumstances led to me babysitting a ‘70s sunburst P with a black guard and maple neck as a teenager in the ‘90s, and I guess it stuck with me.
