"We Jam Econo" screened in small theaters across the country last year. I was lucky enough to see it at the Belcourt. It is a very inspiring film. The release date for the DVD is July 27th. If any of you guys are in the Nashville, TN area, Grimey's Records on 8th Ave. Is having a screening on Monday July 26th at the Basement, the venue below the record store. The Punk Rock Party Band ( a local cover band with members of Turncoats and Glossary) is going to attempt to play a 40 minute set of Minutemen tunes after the screening.

Just got my in the mail a couple days ago. This was a great flick with lots of commentary from many of my favorites from the indie punk scene like Ian MacKaye, Curt Kirkwood, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Joe Baiza, and yeah Flea too. I got choked up at the end when they talked about the day D died. I almost felt like I knew D after watching the movie. I was too young to get into the Minutemen when they were around. I got into them by hearing fIREHOSE and having people say, "Well, if you like fIREHOSE, check out the Minutemen!"

Lots of great live footage, especially the second disk. It amazes me how anyone had the guts to get up and play in front of some of those ******* 'punk' fans spitting at them and heckling. Talk about a tough crowd!

I would sure love to see Watt and Hurley work on some more original stuff together. They were the tightest rhythm section in punk and just about any other genre for that matter.
