Hey,
to begin with: I used to play bass a lot, even in a band. Things became rough for me though, I started studying, played less, finally took a hard cut and sold my old bass (Ibanez GSR200).
My break was roughly 2 years long, played a bit acoustic guitar in between but it wasn't really the same... since I'm almost done with college, I'm planning to dive in again
Welp, I mainly listen to heavy music (metal core, djent), but there are also nice groovy things like Rage Against the Machine, Dream Theater or Vulfpeck that make me want to play again.
I'd love to play in a band again (Djent, Prog.Metal) or just play funky for myself, therefore a decent low-end would be nice with an overall nice bright/warm sound.
Right now I'm struggeling if it makes sense to go overkill and buy the Dingwall NG-2 (kinda my dream) or go less extreme with an Ibanez SR655 or BTB745.
It's quite a lot of money tbf, but I'm also quite picky in terms of sound and I don't know if a cheaper bass might "satisfy my needs".
Maybe there are even other suggestions you guys can make?
Maybe something in a lower budget if it makes more sense in my case (and suprises me equally).
I hope you guys can help~
