Buying Bass in Japan to Australia

Hey all Aussie fellas,

I am planning to buy a Bacchus bass in Japan, and bring it back to Australia.
Just wondering if anyone has experience doing that or not.

I am concerned when bringing it back on the flight, is it going to be a problem?
Also, welcome to any store recommendation in Tokyo!

I’ve not done it personally but a friend bought a guitar at Ishibasi Music and had it freighted back properly packed of course.
If it’s over $1K AU you’ll pay GST and customs clearance.

So your friend shipped from Japan to Australia. Do you know how much it costs?
