Can i use a tone monster sbk 2b preamp kit on active bc rich duel ps

Im working on a ebay kit guitar and have pickups but no wiring and need to know if i can just use a tone monster preamp specifically an sbk2b. This is my first project to deal with active pickups so i dont know much and need help.

100% sure that the Tone Monster can work with active pickups. Johnny Long on YouTube has plenty of videos of basses that have been through his shop where he's combined active EMGs and a Tone Monster.

I guess the first question would be, what pickups are they and are they actually active (is there a battery connection on the pickups)?

Tone monster should work. If the pickups are active the blend might need to be swapped out with a 25 or 50K ohm pot.

They are the same ones that came in my bc rich nj mockingbird when they get here i can know for sure. they do have 3 wires coming off each pickup set if that helps at all

Found this on guitarfuel.com. Don’t know if they mean because the input blend pot is 250K ohm or there is another reason. The blend would not be that hard to switch but you would have to do some soldering.

So its worth a try just to switch out one pot to a 500k blend pot if it doesn’t work well with the 250k pot?

If your pickups need a battery to work then they probably want a lower resistance blend. Try a 25 or 50k ohm blend.
