I know this is a crazy question and I know there is another way I should probably do what I want but I wanted to ask regardless.
I have an import guitar with single coils in it. They have those Ceramic bar magnets on the bottom instead of magnet poles. I had ordered a set of alnico 5 bar magnets that are designed for humbuckers. Since I have never preformed this magnet swap before I did not know that humbucker magnets energy pull run out the long thin sides of the magnets and not across the large flat section of the magnet. So I want to know if I was to recharge the magnets with the charging magnets on the large flat section of the alnico bar magnet would it redirect the magnetic field making them usable for my application?
I wish I had taken pictures of everything to make this a little easier to understand. Basically just need to know if you can change a magnets magnetic direction. This was also on a $7 cost for these magnets including shipping so no major lose even if what I want to do cannot be done. I have even thought about trying NEO magnets on the bottom of the poles and seeing what that sounds like. Hope someone knows and can help. Thanks!
