Salut all ,

Can you guess the type of bass I used with the band Cosmocracy Inc. in our recorded show ?

Everything was recorded with our gear and mixed by us , some slight things done to the bass ( cuting a little 80 Hz for Kick, boosting a little 60 Hz , boosting a little trebles, etc ) but the tone is almost the same I had from my cab playing live and on the headphones when I play at home ( Mooer RADAR used )

I only listened over the awful mono speaker on my phone, whilst watching TV, but it sure sounds like a Rickenbacker 4003 to me.

I think the band sounds great, and have managed to imbue all those covers with your own sound.

For your next poll, might I suggest..

Was the drummer :

. Drunk

. Stone cold sober

:D

Haha thanks and nice one !
The drummer was indeed playing on an electronic kit on the littlest corner of this very small bar, his sticks touching the key guy, not very comfortable !

It sounds like a picked Ric to me although could also be a Jazz. Pretty good stuff. What kind of amp do you use?

No pick involved except for "I Can Feel It Dying" and some parts of the jams !

The amp is a Gallien Krueger MB-500 head ans Gallien Krueger Neo 112 cab.
To record I use the Mooer RADAR on the line output. I use my personal cab IR ( Gallien Krueger Neo 410 with one SM57 on center speaker and one SM57 on tweeter )
Differences in tone between 410 and 112 is 410 is more mid scooped and has big subs, but they really share the same tone family, unlike the CX 210.
I found OK to play live with 112 but record tone with 410 IR, I don't need so much mids on the record.

Some effects into the amp loop ( high pass at 70 Hz, Low pass at 3500 Hz , slight boost at 4000 Hz )

But the core of my tone comes from my overloaded bord !

From the bass to
- High Pass at 40 Hz always on
- Boss EQ always on ( mainly to adjust volume from bass to bass )
- Boss BC-1X comp always on
- MXR envelope filter
- seymour duncan Studio Bass comp always on
- Electro Harmonix Tri parallel Mixer blending clean + behringer BDI-21 wet signal always on + OD Glove wet signal when drive needed
- BOSS line selector LS-2 blending the "clean" signal from Tri Parallel Mixer to Tech21 YYZ pedal
- Fuzz Plasma Pedal when needed
- Mooer E-lady when needed
- Mooer pure boost for clean boosts

Lots of people in this board but I am happy with my tone !

Also I had passed way more time tweaking knobs than actually learning how to play bass !
