I know there have been some other threads about this but i think its a great idea and a needed section.
1st A lot of American ads don't ship to Canada and sometimes the shipping costs makes a good deal a bad one. Not all Canadians live close enough to the border to have it shipped to a border address and cross over to bring it back
2nd Unlike most of the rest of the international community, We are far away from everyone else, Several large oceans on all sides
3rd Nearly all Canadians, unless they are desperately hunting for something, Wont be interested in items from Russia, Spain etc. Its just too cost prohibitive, unless again you are desperately hunting and willing to get it at all costs. That being said its A LOT of digging through the international section at ons of stuff that simply doesn't apply to us
4th Our dollar has tanked, Most are spending in house now just because the exchange makes it hard to import at a decent price
5th I think the presence of a Canadian Sub-section will encourage more Canadians to use Talkbass as a market, instead of just our local classifieds
I made this post rather than resurrecting an old one because i think it has a lot of merit. IT wouldn't need separate sub sections, it would just need to be stamped "Canada" and we could throw all our maple syrup, Beavers and hockey sticks in the same area
Thanks for your consideration,
Trev
