Flying united out of Chicago to Puerto Rico for blues cruise end of October. A hard case to check costs $225 each way! Wow! I want to bring my bongo 5 and carry it on. 2 specific questions;
1) will united allow a gig bag for overhead carry on?

2) what inexpensive (approx $50 ish) gig bag would fit a music man bongo 5? Length is right at 48 inches and max width is about 13 inches. (I could take the strap button off and reduce to 47.5" length)
